Silkmead is a manufacturing Company first registered in 1966 that has specialised in the production of Manipulated Tubular products. A new product, the machine tool division was added in 1996.

The company has been based in Dunstable for the past eighteen years and occupies some 22,000 square feet. Turnover is acquired from a wide range of industries including Automotive, Domestic Appliance, Gas, Heat exchange and Aerospace.
    

The manipulated tube facilities consist of CNC Bending, End Forming, Swaging, and Coiling together with all types of welding facilities. Quality approval is to BS EN ISO9002 with TS 16949 in the preparation stages. A culture of total quality management and its derivative continuous product improvement is firmly established.
