Grahame Herbert is a multi-talented
designer whose range of experience encompasses many building projects for prestige
clients, architectural competitions, including a submission for the Millennium
Bridge, and a long held interest in the design of folding bicycles.
Transportation issues have been of interest to him for many years and in the early
seventies the Ford Motor Company gave serious consideration to his combination
car concept, aimed at reducing todays serious traffic congestion.

In recent times he has volunteered
radical proposals to the Transport Group for London to transform the London bus
system into a more useful overground alternative to the underground.
Grahame was recommended to approach Silkmead by the Technology Exchange
in order to commercialise his latest design. The design has been further developed
over a two year period and now conforms to BS 6102 part 1. The resultant Airframe
folding bike has been widely acclaimed by experts and selected retailers. |
